whats an amazing thing your child has done?

so tonight my 19 month old blew me away and i wondered about all the other kiddos out there. what is that thing that your babe has done that freaked you out ~ in a good way ~ where you thought no way you did that or know that?

tonight mags found a random bag of cheezits. she picked up the bag and looked at me and said cheezits open. the amazing thing about this is, we dont really eat cheezits, at least not enough that she would know the bag and remember the word from the last time she did see them :)

a few other things that she has done lately that i was in awe over: the other day we were walking, holding hands and she sort of swung my hand and said 1, 2, 3 up.

she was reading a book with me that has shapes in it and she pointed to the diamond and said diiimond, she also knows a triangle and a circle.

yesterday she was writing on a piece of paper with an ink pen ~ HER FAVORITE ~ and said to herself, 6, 7, 8, 9 as she was writing.

the other day just at random while she was playing she said a, b, c.

this will be a long post with lots of pictures!!! we (me and bug) went to savannah this week to help my grandmother (juicy lucy) get back on her feet after knee surgery. we left monday morning and got back a few hours ago on saturday night. what fun! here are some pictures from our adventure!

we had the best time. she learned how to say a few words together at a time! when we went to get the mail, i handed it to her. she almost dropped it, but then said, "i got it"!! she also learned to to say: "i love you very much mommy" :)

so a few weeks ago i said i would make a list of bugs vocab for you. well since she is adding a new word every day, sometimes more, i cant keep up. here is some of the list:

more new words

so "they" say that once your kid gets it a far as talking they will just start rattling words off all the time. so i am not sure if this is a freak 24 hours but mags has said: hat, boots, dora, tounge, and the sound a pig makes all in the last 24 hours.

in case you wonder where the dora and boots came from? this is why she is saying those 2 words.

her daddy bought her this so she can take it to the beach when we go next week :)

i think we have a genius on our hands :) (of course i say that, i am the mom) BUT my 13 1/2 months old child said "opposites" today. she and her daddy read this book (among others) all the time. and today she said opp..ssss. right after he read the title to her.



she said it again and again today when we asked her too :)

hehe. so cute!!

update from the mom

here is a list of things that the babe has been doing lately:

• not sleeping :) seriously i think the girl must be in a serious growth spurt or about to embark on a new milestone bc she is really off her "routine" ~ if you know me then you know i say routine in quotes bc we are not structured people. but she does sleep on a pretty routine basis. AM and PM naps and then night night between 7-8 and up between 6-7. well today she took ONE 1 hour nap all day. i thought for sure she would be a bear at 5:30 tonight. nope she went strong until 7:45!!
• not eating very much. i am finally weaning her from her bottle during the day in the hopes that she will eat more food. well not so much. yet anyway. we will see what happens bc it has only been a few days without daytime bottles.

things she is doing that are fun!!

• talking a lot!! she can say up, bubble, dog, eye (s), ball.
• she knows what it means when i say lets go take a bath. she will walk up the stairs and into my bathroom where we have the big fun tub.
• she can find and bring me her shoes, water, paci and pajamas when i ask her to.
• she can climb up onto a chair and then balance with no hands. (not the safest i know but cute and she likes it) see super maggie video below.
• can open and close the VCR (we are a little old school still)
  
• she loves to read her books. she really likes these new look and find books that have things you pull out to see stuff under. we got them from a friend for her birthday. thank you erica, shaun and jack!
• she loves to play "get the doggy and get the kitty" i will have to get it on video. but basically she will head butt the doggy and kitty like she is trying to get them. it is adorable. she "got " mommy the other day.
• she loves to dance.
• she loves to spin. and will spin on request now.
  
• she likes to play chase and will run around the house while you try to get her ;)

basically she is amazing and i am constantly in awe of the fact that i get to be her mom.

so i have some cute pics to come tomorrow but i have to brag on my babe!! she said meow!! my dad was reading to her and pointed to the kitty and said "what does a kitty say?" and she said eowww. she has been doing this squeal thing for awhile whenever she sees the cats but i just thought she was excited! but oh no the girl was meowing the whole time and i didnt know it.

she also did the sign for please the other day when she wanted her water cup. my mom also said that she said bubble the other day when they were playing with the bubbles outside!!

such a big girl!!
